Handheld x-rays are easy to handle and allow for faster FMX capture. With a rapid duty cycle of 3 seconds, the x-ray is always ready for the next exposure. Patient movement can be monitored, and image acquisition is quicker without leaving the room. The soft neck strap facilitates efficient sensor repositioning and prevents drops. Free-handed aiming is simpler compared to positioning a wall-mounted x-ray, especially when the traditional x-ray arm drifts.

Independent testing has shown that handheld x-rays are safe and easy to use, with radiation levels well below FDA limits. The image quality is comparable to that of wall-mounted x-rays.
